Mary My Hope

Mary My Hope only made one album, Museum, but it really sounds like the first "grunge" album.  As it was released in 1989, maybe they were just too early.  I think if it had come out 2-3 years later they would've done pretty well.

  1. Thanks for this one! Here in ATL they were supposed to be the next big thing. After they broke up, the guitarist joined Swans, and the bassist joined the Black Crowes.

  2. Yeah! Don't have the Monster Is Bigger Than The Man ep with Salvation Bus on it do ya? Saw a CD of that ages ago in Atlanta at Wuxtrys and didn't get it. :( Thanks for this!!

  3. Great band.

The singer, James Hall, wound up doing some great solo work, and also fronted Pleasure Club, which was also quite good.

The guitarist, Clint Steele, played on the Swans World of Skin album, and bassist Sven Pipien played in the Black Crowes.
